Acidman

Acidman (often stylized as ACIDMAN) is a Japanese Rock group. The band was formed in 1997 with four members, Shiibashi Takeshi, Urayama Ichigo, Satou Masatoshi, and Ohki Nobuo, who first met in a military academy in Saitama. The four went to a college in Shimokitazawa, where together they formed Acidman. They created two demo tapes together in 1998, but former vocalist Shiibashi Takeshi left in 1999. Ohki took his place and became the leader of the group. They continued playing live concerts, and were eventually signed to Toshiba-EMI. The band is often categorized as punk music or alternative rock but their musical style is broader and is said to blend various kinds of individual peculiarities.
It is noteworthy that the band's lead guitarist/singer (Ohki Nobuo) paints many of the band's album covers.

Acid Mothers Temple

Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O. (and subsequent offshoots) is a Japanese psychedelic band, the core of which formed in 1995. The band is led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto and early in their career featured many musicians, but by 2004 the line-up had coalesced with only a few core members and frequent guest vocalists.
The band has released albums frequently on a number of international record labels as well as the Acid Mothers Temple family record label, which was established in 1998 to document the activities of the whole collective.

Acid Black Cherry

Acid Black Cherry is Janne Da Arc vocalist Yasu's solo project. The band's name is often seen shortened to "A.B.C.".

Background

Throughout the month of May 2007, Yasu and Acid Black Cherry went on a secret nationwide tour of Japan, culminating in a show in Shinjuku which was webcast live to the world. Their first single, Spell Magic, released on July 18, 2007, debuted at #4 on the Oricon Singles Charts in Japan. ABC's second single, entitled Black Cherry, was released on September 26, 2007, and was followed by a third single on November 28, 2007, Aishitenai. Their fourth single, Fuyu no Maboroshi, was released on January 16, 2008 to the number one spot on the Japanese Oricon Singles chart. Acid Black Cherry's first album, Black List, was released on February 20, 2008. Additional guest artists appeared on this album, notably Daita and Jun-ji (ex members of Siam Shade fame) on guitar and drums respectively. Jun-ji is also a consistent member of Acid Black Cherry for touring and events. On August 27, 2008, Acid Black Cherry released their fifth single, 20+∞ Century Boys. On November 2008, Acid Black Cherry released their sixth single, Jigsaw, based in small part on the American movie Saw, of which yasu is a fan. The song reached third place on Japan's Top 50 songs which became a sensation to the population of Japan. On February 18, 2009, Acid Black Cherry released their seventh single, Nemuri Hime. On July 29, 2009, Acid Black Cherry released their eighth single, Yasashii Uso. On August 26, 2009, Acid Black Cherry released their second album Q.E.D. A story about the album was published on the official site ahead of its release, describing a murder case and the search for its culprit. On August 16, 2010, the single Re: Birth: was released. It was used for the opening theme of the game Another Century's Episode: R.

Acid Android

Acid Android often stylized as acid android is a solo project formed by Yukihiro, the drummer of the popular Japanese rock band L'Arc-en-Ciel. Like L'Arc~en~Ciel, they are signed onto Sony Music Japan's Ki/oon Records division. Acid Android releases, as with the other members solo projects, take place in between L'Arc~en~Ciel albums releases when the members are on hiatus. To date Acid Android has released one album, one single, an EP and a live DVD. The band, in contrast to L'Arc~en~Ciel uses a harder, faster sound, more stage-lighting and American-styled mechanics to further energize their concerts.

Acid

Acid is a Japanese rock band originally created by Hideki after Siam Shade disbanded.
In the beginning, Hideki had a huge influence on Acid and they played a hard mix of alternative and emo with heavy emphasis placed on his and Junpei's twin vocals. After he left the band, their songs became less focused on vocals and turned a bit more pop-ish, but still kept their "heavy" sound due to having three guitarists.
Acid formed in August 2003 through auditions held by Hideki. Their live program was made up of both of Hideki's solo albums at the beginning and, after one year of excessive touring through Japan, the group went into studio at the end of 2004 to record their "own" first album album. "Acid 1.5: Punk Drunker" was released in March 2005.
With the end of Siam Shade, Hideki had finished a part of his life and didn't want people to always compare his new band with the old one when he was singing. That's why he drew back to the position behind the keyboard at first and later on left Acid completely in June 2005 so that the band were able to go their own way. Furthermore, he says that this group is his pride and that he'd like to see them in Tokyo Dome one day.
However, after losing few more members (Kim left in 2006 to join the mandatory military services back in Korea, Junpei left in 2008 due to health problem, along with Masamitsu who left with unknown reasons), the three remaining members decided to disband the band and create a new one. Mizuki Sakagami, who used to play with Daisuke in e.MU joined them in 2009 as vocalist and they adopted Needless Lyrics as their new name.

Access

Access (earlier known as AXS) is a popular Japanese music group. Its members are Daisuke Asakura and Hiroyuki Takami; it is a part of Sony Music Japan.
Access was formed in 1991 after singer Hiroyuki Takami performed as a guest vocalist for up-and-coming songwriter/producer Daisuke Asakura.
The two went on to record three albums before announcing their break-up in 1995 for unknown reasons.
In 2002, they reunited with much fanfare.
AXS is their written nickname. While spelt AXS, it is actually not an "X" but two inturned arrows ("A-><-S"). The nickname was coined by Takami. It first appeared on the group's debut album "Fast Access" on the last page of the lyrics book. AXS replaced the group's name on their third single "Naked Desire." The logo has many variations depending on its use.
There is only one album that has "AXS" credited as the group's name: "AXS Remix Best Tracks." In all albums from 1993-1995 song production was credited as "songs by AXS."
Before their reunion in 2002, the logo and nickname have not been used, except as credits for remixed songs on the album and tour DVDs of "Crossbridge."
In 2006 (for the "blanc" and "rouge" tour), AXS reappeared sporting a coat of arms for the tour's logo.
In 2007, the duo performed the opening theme of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion STAGE24 & 25, and did the third opening of D.Gray-Man, and the PV for that song can be seen now as well.
In July, 2008, their new single "Dream Runner" was aired as the opening theme of a TV drama series Here is Greenwood.

AAA

AAA (トリプル・エー, Toripuru Ē^?, Triple A), and also known as Attack All Around, is a Japanese pop band signed to the label Avex Trax which debuted in September 2005. The group originally consisted of five young men and three young women who had all acted in commercials and had been dancers for other Japanese stars, such as Ayumi Hamasaki and Ami Suzuki.

History

2005–2006: Early days and debut

AAA was originally planned to be a 6 member group. At first, members included Takahiro Nishijima, Naoya Urata, Shuta Sueyoshi, Shinjiro Atae, Mitsuhiro Hidaka and Misako Uno as the only girl. Avex later decided to add two more girls; Chiaki Itō and Yukari Goto. As songs like "Blood on Fire" and "Friday Party" were previously prepared for 6 members, the two girls are only heard in the refrain.
The Members are: Naoya Urata the leader and one of the main vocalists of the group, Takahiro Nishijima the main male vocalist, and one of the most well known of the group, Misako Uno the main female vocalist of the group throughout the whole of AAA as well as being best known overseas, Chiaki Ito who despite being little more than a dancer in the early days of AAA, has now become joint lead female vocalist with Uno, Mitsuhiro Hidaka is the main rapper of the group, Shuta Suyoshi and Shinjiro Atae are the main dancers and occasional singers. Yukari Goto left AAA in 2007 due to an illness.
In the summer of 2005, avex announced the debut of a new pop/eurobeat group consisting of boys and girls who have undergone training in the avex artist academy, the record label's training facility for singers, dancers, and other entertainment talents. Because of this, the group's debut was much anticipated and was received well by many fans. In their debut year, they received the "Best Newcomer Award" at the 47th Japan Record Awards. From September to December they released a single each month plus a photobook and their very first album, Attack, in January 2006. With all the previous advertisement and releases the group did not have time to perform their songs live. However, as each of their singles has a different genre this did not cause a problem with sales.
